Sajwani attended the University of Washington where he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics before beginning his work career as a contract manager for a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company going by the name of GASCO.
Hussain Sawani, the DAMAC Owner entered the catering business in 1982 with a small-scale operation that would eventually grow to become a leader in the market. His catering company presently serves more than 150,000 meals a day in markets throughout the Middle East, The CIS, and the continent of Africa.
During the middle years of the 1990’s Hussain Sajwani engineered a large number of hotel construction projects to accommodate the increasing desires that business people from around the world had to travel to Dubai for business and trade. A few years later, in 2002, Sajwani became completely aware of the opportunity provided by the market potential before him and established AMAC Properties to meet the growing demand.
Fifteen years later with and with a slight change in name, DAMAC Properties is a top developer of real property in the Middle East region of the world. Sajwani has demonstrated a keen expertise in the areas of sales and marketing, legal finances, and administrative management to fuel the success of his company.
DAMAC Properties earned the distinction in December of 2013 as the first company offering real estate based in the Middle East to be listed on the London Stock Exchange. This accomplishment took place shortly after the company successfully raised $379 million in IPO funds via a receipts program from a global depository.
DAMAC decided on the Dubai Financial Market as its primary market exchange in January of 2015.
